Private Basil Hodgkinson (23) eldest son of Mr A Hodgkinson, 20, Higher Albert St, Chesterfield died on April 10th in a General Hospital, France of mustard gas poisoning and a gunshot wound in the right arm, which he received on the same day. A clerk at Sheepbridge Works, he joined the Derbyshire Yeomanry in May 1916 and after three months training was discharged. He re-enlisted in May 1917 in the RGA, he went to France last January.
